don’t even start me. 

My friend Amy sent me this. She said it’s her favourite piece of writing. It’s so true, and I couldn’t agree with her more.

fucking hell. 

i can’t even explain how much this means to me. it seems stupid, but in 2006 my family lost legitimately every cent we owned. our house was gone, dad’s business was gone, and we had to move in to our nan’s tiny shitty house. it was hard. i was embarrassed to live there, and having 3 generations under one small roof was the cause for many fights and so much stress. but now that we’re coming out on the other side, with dad’s new business picking back up and renting a nice house, it has occurred to me how much this quote above means. although we lost everything we had, we still had each other. and as a family, we learnt how to not give a flying fuck about material things and we learnt how to be strong no matter what. we value the rare trip away more than anyone else could, and our bond is unbreakable. i actually adore my family to shreds and couldn’t be happier that we lost all of our money, because in the end, our happiness despite the financial situation is something that can’t be bought.
